A PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” — Proverbs 14:34 (ESV)

Dear Heavenly Father, this morning, as we reflect on the results of yesterday’s elections, many of us are disappointed and deeply concerned about the direction of our nation. We see decisions that seem increasingly at odds with the biblical principles and moral values upon which we have built our lives and raised our families.

But we remember, Lord, our hope was never in a party or a politician.

Our hope is in Jesus. He’s still in charge, no matter who’s in office.
Forgive us, Father, for the times we kept quiet when we should have spoken up for what’s right. Forgive us for letting politics get in the way of loving our neighbors. And forgive us for trusting government more than we trust You.

We lift up those who’ve been chosen to lead. Give them wisdom and humility. Help them care about the people they serve. If they make choices that go against Your Word, we ask You to speak to their hearts and lead them back to what’s right.

Strengthen Your Church, Lord. Remind us we’re called to be salt and light, not just when life is easy, but even more when it’s hard.

Watch over our kids. Hold our families together. Stand up for those who can’t defend themselves. Bring back a respect for what’s true and right.
And Lord, if there’s going to be a revival in this country, let it start with us—in our hearts, our homes, and our churches.

Elections can shift a nation, but they don’t change who God is or what He can do.

We will continue to pray, continue to stand upon Your Word, continue to love our neighbors, and continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We pray, we trust You, and we put this country in Your hands.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
