A Life that SpeaksThere is a quiet reality we don’t often say out loud:Christianity is rarely judged by its theology, it is judged by its people. We may proclaim truth with our words, defend it with conviction, and identify ourselves boldly as believers. But the world is not primarily listening to what we say. It is watching how we live.And what it sees matters more than we think.We live in a time where faith can easily become compartmentalized—a portion of the week, a habit of attendance, a box checked. A few hours offered to God, while the rest of life operates under a different set of instincts. In this way, a subtle divide forms: a moral life divorced from spiritual identity. We may still believe the right things, but those beliefs no longer consistently shape how we move through the ordinary moments of our lives.Yet it is precisely in those ordinary moments that our witness is most visible.Not in the pew, but in the grocery store.Not in the prayer we say aloud, but in the patience we extend when we are tired.Not in the label we claim, but in the way we treat the person who can offer us nothing in return.It is easy to assume that our small failures go unnoticed. But witness does not work like an average—it works like a memory. One harsh word, one dishonest moment, one visible contradiction can linger far longer than a hundred quiet acts of faithfulness. Like a single bad review among many good ones, it shapes perception in a way we cannot control once it leaves us.This is not meant to condemn, but to awaken.Because the truth is, our lives are always speaking. The question is not if we are witnessing, but what we are witnessing to.There is another quiet truth we must be willing to face:Many who walk away from the Church are not rejecting God as much as they are reacting to what they have experienced from His people. What is often called “church hurt” is not always a rejection of truth—but a response to its distortion.When faith is lived inconsistently—when love is preached but not practiced, when grace is spoken but not extended, when identity is claimed but not embodied—it creates confusion, and sometimes deep wounds. Not because the Gospel is lacking, but because it has been obscured.The early Christians were known by a simple observation from Tertullian: “See how they love one another.”That was their witness. That was their credibility.And so we have to ask ourselves—what are we known for?Because when our lives mirror the mercy, patience, and humility of Christ, they draw people in. But when they contradict Him, they can push people away—not from us alone, but from the very God we claim to represent.Yet even here, there is hope.As St. John Chrysostom reminds us: “The Church is not a theater for saints, but a hospital for sinners.”Which means failure will exist—but it should never be where we settle. It should be where we begin again.And as St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote: “It is better to be a Christian without saying so, than to say so without being one.”In many faith traditions, belief is woven into the fabric of daily life—shaping rhythms, habits, and even the smallest decisions. It becomes difficult to separate what one believes from how one lives. And perhaps there is something to learn here: that faith was never meant to be contained. It was meant to permeate.Christianity, at its heart, is not merely a set of beliefs about Christ—it is an invitation to become a living reflection of Him. To embody patience, mercy, humility, and love in ways that make the invisible visible again.Most people will never open a Bible with the intention of understanding it deeply. But they will read us—carefully, subconsciously, and often critically.They will draw conclusions about Christ based on the tone of our voice, the consistency of our actions, and the integrity of our lives.This is the weight and the gift of witness.So today, the invitation is simple:Let your faith follow you into the unnoticed places. Let it shape the moments that feel too small to matter. Let there be no division between what you believe and how you live.Because somewhere, in a way you may never see, someone is forming an understanding of Christianity through you.And your life is speaking.

A Life that Speaks

There is a troubling drift in much of modern Christianity. Many have become so consumed with chasing what they believe is the moving of the Holy Spirit that they have lost sight of where the Holy Spirit is always pointing—Jesus Christ.Emotional experiences can be powerful. Music can stir the heart. Passionate preaching can move people. Crowds can generate excitement. Atmospheres can be carefully manufactured to create moments that feel spiritual. But feelings, no matter how intense, are not always evidence of the Spirit of God. Emotion can be manipulated. Experiences can be manufactured. The flesh can imitate what many mistake for the Spirit.The question we must ask is simple: *Does it glorify Christ?* Jesus Himself told us plainly concerning the Holy Spirit: *“He shall glorify Me”* (John 16:14). That is the Spirit’s work—to magnify Christ, exalt Christ, reveal Christ, and draw men and women to deeper worship, obedience, and surrender to Christ. The Holy Spirit does not seek the spotlight. He never points to Himself. He points to the Son.The late John MacArthur wrote in *Strange Fire*, “Show me a person obsessed with the Holy Spirit and His gifts, and I will show you a person not filled with the Holy Spirit. But show me a person focused on the person and work of Christ, and I will show you a person who is filled with the Spirit.”There is hard truth in that statement.A Spirit-filled believer is not obsessed with signs, wonders, emotional highs, or outward displays of spirituality. A Spirit-filled believer becomes increasingly captivated by Jesus—His Word, His holiness, His cross, His resurrection, His mercy, and His Lordship. The evidence of the Spirit is not merely excitement in a worship service, but transformation in everyday life. Greater humility. Deeper repentance. Stronger obedience. A growing hunger for Scripture. A heart that burns to know Christ more.The Holy Spirit is not given so we may chase experiences. He is given so we may become more like Jesus.Churches would do well to remember that noise is not revival. Emotion is not necessarily worship. Excitement is not always spiritual power. Manufactured moments may move crowds, but only the Holy Spirit can truly change hearts—and when He moves, Christ is lifted high.Stop chasing and start Walking with Jesus, keep your eyes fixed on Him. That is where the Spirit points. That is where true worship begins. The Holy Spirit Can Not Be Manipulated - Do Not Be Deceived by Your Emotions

&nbsp;&nbsp;A closer look at the "little gods" doctrine and what the Word of God says.The belief that Christians are “little gods” is not only fundamentally flawed but also dangerously misleading. It conflates our profound union with Christ with an erroneous idea of equality with God. While Scripture elevates believers as adopted children, heirs alongside Christ, and vessels indwelt by the Spirit, it never intimates that we share in the divine essence of God.Let’s delve into the Scriptures to uncover why this doctrine is erroneous: In the Book of Isaiah, we encounter a powerful declaration of God’s singularity and sovereignty. - "Before Me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after Me." (Isaiah 43:10) and "I am God, and there is no other." (Isaiah 45:5)Here in the book of Isaiah, God clearly disavows the existence of any other true gods—past, present, or future. If believers were to become gods, even in a diminutive sense as "little Gods", these Scriptures would be rendered false and meaningless.In 2 Peter 1:4, we learn that as believers, we “partake in God’s divine nature,” but this does not imply that we become gods ourselves. Instead, it signifies our participation in God's life and holiness—reflecting His moral attributes—not His divine essence. God’s attributes, such as omnipotence and omniscience, are far beyond our human experience and capabilities.The doctrine of “little gods” ironically mirrors the serpent’s deceitful whisper in the Garden of Eden. "You will be like God." (Genesis 3:5) This foundational heresy encourages us to aspire to a status of deity, echoing the original temptation that led to humanity's fall. It’s crucial for us to exercise discernment and not to fall prey to such misleading teachings that elevate humanity at the expense of God’s glory.While we walk in fellowship with Jesus, we must acknowledge that He is the “only-begotten Son” (John 1:14) and our “Lord” (Ephesians 4:5). Our status as sons is one of adoption, not of divine nature. We are not the second, third, or even fourth begotten Son; but we do enjoy the privilege of being grafted into God’s family through the sacrificial love of Christ.In conclusion, as Christians, the bottom line is that we are not "little gods." We are redeemed Christians, bought at a price by the blood of Christ. We are not divine beings but cherished children of grace, called to reflect God’s glory, His light, and His love.Any claim otherwise diminishes His grandeur and exaltation. Scripture has long warned us against this fallacy, which seeks to elevate humanity while lowering the majesty of God. Let us hold fast to the truth and not be swayed by such deceptions as the "little Gods" doctrine. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

The Serpent's Lie - "You will be like Gods"

The little God movement has become established in the church despite its obvious contradiction to the Bible.The "little gods" teaching represents a concerning misinterpretation of Scriptures that strays from biblical truth, primarily promoted by several prominent "pastors" within the Word of Faith movement. It claims that humans, especially Christians, embody a divine essence, which inaccurately positions them as "little gods." This belief significantly undermines the essential distinction between Creator and creation, and it is crucial to approach such teachings with discernment and a commitment to the foundational principles of our faith.The Little Gods doctrine is an intriguing popular concept. It suggests that we, particularly as Christians, possess divine qualities—essentially viewing ourselves as “gods” with a small “g.” This belief underscores the incredible power of our words, which can shape our reality much like the Word of God does. Phrases such as “name it and claim it” or “blab it and grab it” capture this inspiring idea of manifesting our desires through positive declaration.Teachers of this doctrine claim that the Holy Spirit has imparted this revelation to them directly. It is important to remember that the Holy Spirit is also the author of the Bible, and would never convey a message to anyone that contradicts Scripture.&nbsp;The Bible clearly emphasizes that God is the only infinite, sovereign, and all-powerful being. As stated in Isaiah 45:5, "I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides me, there is no God." While human beings are wonderfully created in God's image (Genesis 1:27), this does not imply that we are divine or “little gods.” Rather, reflecting God’s image signifies that we embody certain aspects of His character, such as rationality, morality, and the ability to connect with one another. It’s essential to acknowledge that we are finite, fallible, and fundamentally reliant on God. When we refer to ourselves as "little gods," we inadvertently place ourselves on par with the Almighty, which reflects a concerning level of arrogance and self-adulation. This idea is certainly not novel; it echoes the serpent's deceptive words to Eve in the Garden, suggesting, "You will be like God" (Genesis 3:5). Let's remember the importance of humility and the wisdom that comes from acknowledging our place in the grand design and celebrate our unique reflection of Him with gratitude and humility! &nbsp;

The "Little Gods" Word of Faith Heresy

Just a personal thought I wanted to share with you today. There are days when I look around and wonder if we’ve made peace with something we were never meant to get comfortable with.Grace.Not the word—we use that freely enough. But the weight of it… the cost of it… the Cross that made it possible. Somewhere along the way, we started treating grace like a permission slip instead of a calling. Like it was meant to make life easier, not holier.I’ll be honest with you—this isn’t just something I see “out there.” It’s something I’ve had to wrestle with in my own walk. It’s easy to drift. Easy to justify. Easy to convince ourselves that because we’re saved, we’re settled.But Jesus never called us to settle.Grace is free to us, yes—but it wasn’t cheap. It cost Him everything. And when that truth really settles into your bones, it changes how you live. It humbles you. It sharpens you. It calls you higher.The world doesn’t need more Christians who blend in. It needs men and women whose lives quietly but unmistakably point to something different… Someone different.Not perfect people. But people who take sin seriously, who walk in repentance, and who understand that following Christ means something.I’ve found that when grace is truly understood, it doesn’t make you careless—it makes you grateful. And gratitude has a way of changing how a man lives when no one’s watching.That’s the difference.And that difference?That’s what makes someone stop and wonder if maybe… just maybe… God is real. — ray mileurGrace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord, be with you.

The Weight of Grace

I have encountered many Christians who hold the belief that because salvation is a free gift, it somehow becomes cheap—suggesting that it bears no cost to us. Nothing pains my spirit more than observing how this attitude of cheap grace is exemplified within today's church community. The lack of reverence for the profound sacrifice that underpins our salvation is disheartening, leading to a superficial understanding of faith that can dilute the transformative power of grace.Many individuals who label themselves as "Christians" may often find a sense of comfort in their worldly lifestyles, overlooking the deeper call to genuinely follow Christ. They may hold the belief that grace comes without cost, which can result in an alarming indifference to their own sins. However, this perspective on grace is not the profound gift that was won at the Cross; rather, it represents a diluted version of grace, one that they have created to suit their own desires and justifications.The concept of cheap grace in man's interpretation suggests a shallow approach to faith, where the sermon of forgiveness is delivered without the weight of genuine repentance; communion is experienced devoid of the introspection that confession demands; baptism is performed absent the commitment that true discipleship entails; and absolution is granted without the necessity of personal accountability. This leads to a lifestyle that mirrors the world around us, lacking the transformative power and depth that authentic faith should inspire.Is it any wonder that the modern Christian's life often fails to draw others to Christ when those who are lost cannot discern a meaningful distinction between the life a Christian leads and the existence of those who remain in their sins? As they navigate their daily routines, both seem to bask in the same worldly distractions, leaving little room for the transformative power of faith to shine through. Look Where You are Looking

Are you suffering from spiritual dehydration?&nbsp; Spiritual dehydration refers to a state of spiritual dryness characterized by a lack of connection to God. This condition often manifests as spiritual apathy, a diminished sense of joy and inspiration, and an increased susceptibility to negative emotions such as fear, anger, and anxiety.In the mission field, I often work long hours: sixteen hours on Sunday, fourteen hours on Monday, and another ten yesterday. To prevent becoming weak and ineffective, and to avoid the risks of spiritual dehydration, I am reminded by the Holy Spirit, of the Word where Jesus says, "Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." — Jesus, John 4:14Every morning, morning I fill my cup with:1. A cup of prayer 2. A cup of thanksgiving 3. A cup of praise for God 4. A cup of Scripture 5.
