Beware the Counterfeit

Beware the Counterfeit
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” — 2 Corinthians 11:13–14 (KJV)
There’s a hard truth the Church doesn’t talk about enough anymore.
The enemy isn’t trying to destroy Christianity—he’s far too cunning for that. Instead, he offers a counterfeit.
A version of faith that looks right on the surface…
sounds spiritual…
feels good…
and draws no resistance from the world.
It’s a Christianity without repentance.
A Gospel without the cross.
A faith that comforts, but never convicts.
And it’s everywhere.
It shows up in teachings that promise blessings without obedience…
spirituality without truth…
and unity without discernment.
Some chase experiences instead of Christ.
Others redefine truth to fit culture.
And in some cases, people open doors to things they don’t fully understand—calling it “spiritual,” when it has nothing to do with the Spirit of God.
Here’s the danger—
a counterfeit only works if it closely resembles the real thing.
That’s why Scripture warns us to test everything.
Not by feelings…
not by popularity…
but by the Word of God.
Now hear me—this isn’t about pointing fingers.
It’s about staying anchored.
Because the real Gospel will always do three things:
It will exalt Jesus, not man
It will call for repentance, not just affirmation
It will transform lives, not just entertain hearts
We don’t need a new version of Christianity.
We need to return to the old one—the one rooted in truth, grounded in Scripture, and centered on Christ.
In a world full of counterfeits,
be a man or woman who knows the real thing.
