Walking with Jesus
A Life of Prayerful Devotion

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
— Colossians 4:2

There’s a kind of life God calls us into—a life where prayer isn’t something we do from time to time, but something we live in.

Not just spoken words at set moments, but a steady awareness of His presence… a quiet conversation that never really ends.

Paul’s instruction is simple, but it’s not shallow. Devote yourselves to prayer. That means consistency. It means priority. It means making room for God not just when life slows down—but especially when it doesn’t.

And then he adds two words that shape everything: watchful and thankful.

Watchful—eyes open to where God is moving. Not drifting through the day, but paying attention. Looking for His hand in the ordinary moments… and the unexpected ones.

Thankful—a heart that remembers. A heart that sees God’s goodness, even when the road gets rough. Gratitude has a way of steadying us. It keeps us grounded when life tries to pull us off course.

Here’s the truth: when you live this way—prayerful, watchful, thankful—you start to see differently. You begin to recognize that God is not distant. He’s present. Active. Faithful.

Today, don’t overcomplicate it.

Start with a simple prayer.
Stay aware as you go.
Give thanks along the way.

That’s how a life of devotion is built—one faithful step at a time.
