When the Road Feels Long
Walking with Jesus — Day 6
When the Road Feels Long
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Some days, the journey of faith can feel like an unending road. Each step grows heavier. Each mile seems longer than the one before. Each moment tests our resolve.
Yet it is often in these seasons of persistent struggle that God does some of His deepest work in us. Perseverance turns weary footsteps into sacred ground. What feels like delay may actually be preparation. What feels like silence may be God strengthening our roots beneath the surface.
God’s timing is never hurried, and it is never late. He knows the exact season when the harvest will come. Even when the fruit of our labor seems distant, we are called to keep sowing seeds of kindness, compassion, obedience, prayer, and faith into the lives of others.
Do not stop doing good simply because you cannot yet see the results. The Lord sees every act of faithfulness. He knows every prayer whispered through tears, every burden carried quietly, every step taken when quitting would have been easier.
The One who called you to this journey will bring the harvest in His perfect time. So keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep sowing. The road may feel long, but you are not walking it alone.
Embrace the waiting, my friends, for it is often in the waiting that God grows what will one day become the harvest.
Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, strengthen us when we grow tired. Help us not to give up when the road feels long and the results seem far away. Teach us to trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your purpose. Give us faithful hearts to keep doing good, even when no one notices and nothing seems to change. Remind us that You are working even when we cannot see it. Help us keep walking with Jesus, one step at a time, until the harvest comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Ray’s Reflection
Isaiah 41:20 reminds us that God wants His people to see, know, consider, and understand that His hand is at work. That is important when the road feels long, because weariness has a way of narrowing our vision. We start looking only at the problem, the delay, the burden, or the unanswered prayer.
But faith teaches us to look deeper.
I have often said, “If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it.” That does not mean the road will be easy. It does not mean we will never get tired, discouraged, or confused. It means we are not walking through the hard places alone. The same God who allows the journey also provides the strength for the journey.
Sometimes God does His greatest work where we would least expect it — in the wilderness, in the waiting, and in the weary places. He opens a way where we saw no way. He provides water in dry ground. He reminds us that His hand has not moved away from us.
So when the road feels long, do not quit. Stop and look for the hand of God. He is still working, still leading, and still bringing you through.
